Teardrop Larimar Pendant - Medium (LMB-111) (One of Laurie's Favorites!)

Here it is - one of my favorite pendants in our whole store! I absolutely love everything about this stone!  The color is my favorite true, baby blue; the pattern is also one of my favorites - ethereal, chatoyant patterning with some classic turtleback. And, it's not set with a traditional bezel which means the stone can be in contact with the wearer. Plus, it's got a great sterling silver bail in the shape of a leaf!  And, it's double sided? What's not to love?

This is why we love freeform pendants! The artisan looks at a slab of Larimar, finds the very "best" part of it and cuts that out - the shape is determined by the stone, not vice versa. In this case, it happens to be a pear shape (tear drop?).

In this case, the bold freeform happens to be a wider marquis shape - and what a stone it is!  The patterning and color of this stone are the stars - various shades of blue create the look of Larimar stained glass. The stone is expertly-carved and then set in a high-polished sterling silver bezel with bail. What a special stone!
